Killipede

What — Giant feral spiked insect (~500 spikes, no teeth, bug eyes, many legs, segmented body, cyan blood); an arena combat challenge in Gwyndinas, not a sentient antagonist.

Threat — Moderate. Took 7 rounds and disabled two PCs (charm, drag-under), but no party member came close to death; explicitly the warm-up before the tougher Gravek.

Observed abilities (Session 12)

• Roar of Defiance — bonus-action psychic AoE, 2 damage to everyone in the arena; forces concentration checks.
• Bug Eyes — targets one creature with a Wisdom and an Intelligence save; on fail, charmed/distracted, dropped weapon, and forced random movement (hit Draak out of the fight for a round).
• Killer Torpedo — burrows and surfaces under a target; victim picks a Dex (avoid) or Con (endure) save, dragged underground for 27 bludgeoning (Con save reduced it by 6). Targeted Lash.
• Fling — grapple-style throw to launch a target airborne (by one account it hurled Silithane 24 ft, who survived via Feather Fall; in transcript it flung Lash, who made a Str save and went only 7 ft). Str save resists.
• Multiattack (bite/slam) — piercing; one hit dealt ~21 (party took half via Draak's damage-share). No teeth, cannot swallow a Small creature.
• Passive (never triggered) — GM noted it "gets stronger the closer to death you are"; party stayed healthy so it was never observed.

Resistances / immunities / weaknesses — NOT immune to nonmagical weapons (confirmed turn 1). No other resistances or immunities observed.

Tactics & behavior — Mindless brute: closes to melee, opens with crowd-control (Bug Eyes / Fling) to pick off the smallest target, then Killer Torpedo on an isolated PC. GM called it feral with "no thought behind its eyes" — it does not assess threats, retreat, or surrender; fought to the death.

Disposition to the party — Hostile (caged arena beast, no agency or negotiation).

Status — Dead. Killed Session 12 when Lash climbed into its mouth and smashed its upper jaw; corpse harvested for 498 spines (crafting) and 1 liver (alchemical).

Gaps — No AC or HP recorded. Fear of Fenric / spellbreakers: no evidence — a mindless beast and Fenric was absent this session. Fling distance/target conflicts between one account (Silithane, 24 ft) and the transcript (Lash, 7 ft).

SUMMARY: Feral arena bug, dead Session 12; charm, burrow-drag, psychic roar; mindless brute.
