Gravek Claw Tips
A custom set of ten claw tips and ten metal retaining bands, forged by Lash for Fenric and delivered in Session 55 — the long-promised claw upgrade that has sat in her queue since her hammer. The tips are cut from the six Gravek claws the party harvested off the Gwyndinas arena beast in Session 12, which is why they look like bone.
Effect: worn as a weapon rather than an unarmed strike, they grant +1 to hit and +1d6 poison damage. Lash's own framing: "they're weapons, but they're not weapons — they're modifiers to weapons."
Fitting. Two segments, like a tiny set of segmented gauntlets. The front inches of each claw had to be shaved down about 20% of their width, and a further 5% behind that for the band; the tip clasps underneath, and the band bridges tip and full-thickness claw so it cannot slide off. Fitted this way the claws still retract into their sheaths and feel more or less natural. Fenric declined Lash's drill and filed his own claws down with a nail file coarser than most.
The gum caps. A set of soft rubbery covers — "almost like a tartar gum thing" — that go over the tips so he doesn't scratch himself in his sleep and poison himself, the claws being venomous.
Session 55
- Delivered first thing on the morning of the 23rd of New Summer, alongside Silithane's reforged +1 silvered longsword — the second of Lash's two finished commissions. "We've been thinking about it for a while, so I decided just to hammer it out last night, and I want to use all these fancy monster parts that we have."
- Silithane missed the entire fifteen-minute scene and only found out hours later. His explanation: "I must have been in the Void, or affected by the Void."
