The Toeskinner
One of Laewendas's agents of mutilation — an old, scarred man who, when a village, town or individual displeases the Queen, cuts off their feet and skins and eats their toes, leaving behind stumped survivors unable to walk, run or fight: living warnings "not to step on Laewendas's toes." Based in Laewendas's upstream cave north of Ponterford, where he keeps a pyramid of severed feet. He is shadowed by a smaller, clumsier copy of himself with the exact same face — billed as an apprentice in training, but plainly the product of some duplication gone wrong (a son shouldn't look like a worse clone).
(Known to Lash from her recent years on the island as "the Toe Skinner"; she'd thought there was only ever one of him. The nature of the second, same-faced figure — son, clone, or botched copy — is open.)
Session 40 (debut)
- Scouted by an invisible Lash from the cave's underground river: he and his apprentice were kneeling by a pile of severed feet, skinning and eating the toe-skin in eerie unison.
- Identified (History/Nature) as a known Laewendas enforcer — confirming the cave is, as the GM put it, "a little cave of villains that are up to stuff."
Session 43 (killed)
- Both the Toe Skinner and his identical, smaller clone-son fought (and fell) in the southern half of the dawn ambush, run by the GM — having fled south mid-combat to keep eating toes, to Magra's lasting discomfort ("they kept eating toes in the middle of the combat").
- His camp held a pyramid of skinned toes and another of unskinned — a scene Silithane's survival read judged "went against all gods." The nature of the same-faced second figure (son / clone / botched copy) dies with them, unresolved.
