Dominus

The Varian spymaster of Gwyndinas, operating from a tannery near All Saints Cathedral — a disguise so flawlessly mundane it gives even trained spies doubt. He presents as a meek, bulbous-eyed shoe-repairman in common clothes; the right code phrase straightens his shoulders and cracks his knuckles into the handler underneath. Silithane's formal spy contact in the city, arranged via Figueroa's marked map back in Session 8.

Session 12

• Silithane reached him at last (the tannery is on the city map but easy to miss), spoke the activation phrase, and reopened Varian spy work under him.
• Handed over 7 Palisade passes (papers to get the group of 7 past the wall) as partial advance, and assigned a job in Ponterford (~45 miles beyond the wall): determine what is abducting young people at night so his "blasters" can be sent to kill it.
• Bought intel from Silithane: Roger Payton's death (2 gold) and the looted Mindel Cromelon/Cromelon letter (5 gold) — identifying Mindel Cromelon as the Southlander bandit lord beyond the wall.
• Mentioned a smiling serial killer butchering people in Gwyndinas, handled (poorly) by the Knights Guild.

Session 17

• Silithane returned to the tannery and got a cold reception — Dominus is displeased he still hasn't left for Ponterford (which he now puts at ~80 miles / ~10 days each way, with an end-of-month deadline) and began leafing through his files to reassign the job to another spy, no longer trusting it in Silithane's hands.
• Traded info both ways (the body-buying butcher is gone; Smiling Sam is "probably a blood mage, maybe a portal mage"), but withheld his own intel, since Silithane is the gatherer for the unfinished job.
• Pointed Silithane toward a truesight potion (to see through invisibility/illusion) — too costly (~1,500+ gold) to gift before the job's done, but he handed over a stamped discount buckle for a capable-but-wasteful alchemist ~10 minutes west of the Colosseum.

Session 18

• The discount buckle was redeemed: the party visited his recommended wasteful alchemist west of the Colosseum and bought experimental potions/poisons (the costly truesight potion still withheld pending the unfinished job).
