Horonir Helmnack
One of the two vanished blacksmiths of the Menagoles — a lesser noble of the Helmnack family, a smithing line whose craft Eldrich the Elder recognizes on sight. The Helmnacks anciently claimed ownership of one of the Tors (Little, Middle, or a mythical "Greater" Tor that may not exist) — but the family never knew which; if their claim covered the Middle Tor, it covers the town's sealed tin mine (Session 49).
His trail runs through the campaign's darkest find: the sigil on the murdered-smith skeleton fused into the Druid's Grove amalgam (Session 47) is Helmnack craft — Magra sketched it from memory and Eldrich identified it (Session 49).
Threads
- Missing. The town's guard fort wants a blacksmith because its last two vanished; a missing smith's wife disappeared searching for him (Session 49) — part of the Menagoles pattern of people who "know things" vanishing since Orathos Keep went up (Session 48).
- The grove skeleton. Whether the Helmnack-sigil skeleton in the grove (Session 47) is Horonir — or kin — is open.
- The Tor claim. If the Helmnack line holds the Middle Tor mine, the family's claim is a live stake in whatever Laewendas is hiding there.
