Previously on Reclaiming Orathos

The grove finally gives up its dead! Thalia returns the giant moorhen's egg and Enriches the land, crunching the Dome of Thorns shut for a year — then Stunghelm Tree-Strides everyone home to New Halfwood. Clover gets her archdruid's letter, Humphrey pays out 162 gold (cash over a noble title), and a melancholy water-nymph named Songbird — mobbed by hummingbirds he can't explain — tags along. Stunghelm cracks the mystery (a witch tried to harvest the birds' eyes; Songbird freed them) and the nymph shrugs: "I'm a bird guy now."

Marching north, the party reaches the Menagoles — not a mining hamlet but eight merged towns of 5,000 souls, occupied by Laewendas and stamped down under Orathos Keep. They smuggle the Reclamation Signet past the gate, gorge at a food festival (Fenric eats twelve pounds of meat pie), and learn the town's dark rhythm: skilled folk keep vanishing, a murder goes unsolved. A goblin tour ends in the church's haunted undercroft — secretly a prison escape tunnel. The party knocks on the hollow wall... and something knocks back.

SUMMARY: Leaving the sealed grove with new companion Songbird, the party reaches Laewendas-occupied Menagoles, uncovers its vanishing-craftsmen mystery, and a haunted-church tour ends with something knocking back from the prison tunnel.
