Figueroa
A spy aboard The Expedition Ship who isn't hiding being a spy — insignia of the
Spycraft Guild and House Bloodworth half-visible from a pocket, coin
perpetually flicking — just not interested in being bothered by random people.
Buys and sells information ("you know, like so-and-so's having an affair... we buy
it"). "I don't know things, and that makes me want to know them."
Session 5
- Recruited by Silithane looking for spy work (Figueroa is the contact he found
himself; his formal spy contact will be arranged on the island). - Offered 10 gold to learn what the Firebrands are doing with the creepy
half-angel half-dragon statue craned into the bottom deck — the Firebrands
rebuffed Figueroa directly ("we don't talk to spies"), so now they hire people who
don't look like spies.
Session 7
- Paid off the statue job: Silithane reported the bottom-deck dragon statue and
Kain's reincarnation; Figueroa rewarded him with a survival ring ("keeps you alive if
somebody stabs you a little bit") and offered more work. - The Vana Vermillion hunt: put both Fenric and Silithane (separately, 60 gold
each) onto the same target — a high-value stowaway he's ~85–99% sure boarded and never
left: Vana Vermillion, the Veilwood Voivode's daughter. "Don't interface with
them — just find them and come back." Operates "by the bananas"; tradecraft mantra: "if
you're saying her name, you fucked up big time."
Session 8
- Set up shop in Fort Foothold's town square, openly buying secrets from a queue
of walk-ups. - In big trouble: his hunch about the ship led him into "something I wasn't meant
to know for the side that I'm on" — the hidden cabin with Uva Blackheart and
Vana Vermillion. His terms to Silithane: "you and me, we both forget what we ever
learned." ("There was no hidden cabin on that boat.") - Still delivered: a Gwyndinas city map marked with the next Varian contact —
Dominus, the tannery man in a back alley by All Saints Cathedral — plus a
20-word recognition code to be worked out.
