Sand Boys

What — Humanoid-shaped constructs formed from the ashes of miners who burned to death in the deep Menagoles Mines; the party's name for the mine's reanimating "ash-dead" (Session 51). First met as two "ash-riders" that rose with Jex's bucket-lift on the six-mile ascent — a preview of the fifty-plus primed to animate in the deep base-chamber below.

Threat — Low individually. The two encountered on the lift were a trivial two-round fight — the party's high AC shrugged off their claws entirely and no PC was hurt (Session 51). Dangerous only in mass: 50+ wait dormant in the fortified deep chamber, a serious horde if stealth breaks.

Observed abilities (Session 51)

Resistances / immunities / weaknesses (Session 51)

Tactics & behavior — Mindless. Rise from the ash and pursue the nearest living target; no assessment, retreat, or surrender (Session 51).

Disposition to the party — Hostile (mindless ash-undead, no negotiation).

StatusActive / recurring. The two ash-riders on the bucket-lift were destroyed — Jex's crit and Fenric's claws finished the first, Silithane's thunder the second (Session 51). But 50+ more remain primed in the deep base-chamber; the party slipped past them on a group stealth pass rather than fight, so the horde is intact and looms if discovered.

SUMMARY: Ash-constructs of burned Menagoles miners — immune to fire, weak to thunder, resist piercing, hurt by silver/bludgeoning; two destroyed on the lift in Session 51 while 50+ remain waiting in the deep mine.
