Jugs
The drug alchemist of The Expedition Ship — cooks "Parrow" (parrot, freshly
rebranded "Rat": "Every post is Rat") in iron pots and jugs under the lower-deck
stairs, screened by sight-blocking crates, the Potato Man, and Sir Conolith's
repellent corner. Buys cookware from dockyard kids; pays "50% above minimum wage"
when haggled. (Name uncertain — the GM used Jugs, Jugs and Jack in one session; see
Canon Questions.)
Session 6
- Hired most of the party for the 20-day crossing: Kain heating cauldrons
(3 gp/day + a ceremony day off, negotiated under threat of burned product and
vampire), Ashlyn as 5 gp/day guard ("I need them the most"), Magra peeling
potatoes (2 gp/day), Silithane mending smashed vials, Thalia running
deliveries (4 silver/package), and Lash repairing two holed iron
pots (5 gp, materials reimbursed). - First delivery list: Laku, Eleanor, the parrot rat by the middle-deck cannon, a
decoy package to the "sleeping" spy, and Philip the 24/7 face-washer. - Offered to keep good workers on after the trip.
Session 7
- Paid out the crew's final wages and wrapped up production for the voyage ("I've
brewed enough parrow for one day"): Lash 5 gold (her well-made repaired
pots), Magra 2 gold (peeling), Kain 3 gp 5 sp (cauldron-warming, honoring his
half-gold haggle), Silithane 2 gp 5 sp (vial-mending). Packed the still into its
brewing crate.
Session 19
- Callback: the gelatin nutrient cube Jugs once gave Draak aboard ship ("only one
a day," which he promptly hoarded) turns out to match Dr. Provostinalkov's own
invention — the doctor, startled, chalks it up to simultaneous invention and
resolves to switch to "nutri-spheres." So Jugs (or whoever Jugs got them from) was
cooking god-tier nutrient cubes the whole time.
