Sir Danica
A retired knight of the realm of Rivalon — elderly, grey-haired, still in full plate with sword at hip, riding a horse nearly as old as she is; both "a touch out of their prime, but still maintaining a facade of what they once were." Retired knights are rare (most die young saving maidens), and she's been dragged back out by the war. Her gaze judges people "not only as you are, but as you might be." She dropped her father's surname after failing to live up to his tale: she is Ser Danica and no more.
Her wound: in her youth she swore fealty to "the crown and the throne in Cathalon" — words now binding her to the usurper. Rather than serve a monster, she broke her oath and serves Ysolde, making her the worst thing a Rivellanin can be: an oathbreaker. "Should you slay Loendis, place her head upon a pike, then my honor will return."
Session 8
- Announced (after two hours of deliberately boring council speeches at Fort Foothold — paperwork cover, per Silithane's read) that she seeks a squire of only the most solidified honorable background.
- Clocked Silithane as a Varian spy within eleven seconds; then dictated her oathbreaker story straight into his notebook for the network — "Put that in your little book and swallow it."
- Interviewed an eager Draak (greatest foe: "Fenric"; fairest maiden rescued: "Vana Vermillion" — which flipped her interest from feigned to genuine).
- Left Silithane homework: "Find your nearest knight, ask them what happened in Frostmoor Isle."
Session 9
- The Frostmoor Isle homework was misremembered: on a history recheck, Silithane recalled she actually told him to ask his higher-ranked Varian spy contacts what happened on Frostmoor Isle — not knights. (Sir Ronald of Chapston, a knight, has genuinely never heard of it.)
- Clarified in passing: the paper she signed for the party at Foothold was their tax paperwork, not their leaving papers.
