Prisoner-Moving Staff
A metal stave forged by Malifax to move the inmates of the under-prison between cells. Its head is a pair of curved hooks (one pointing over, one under) cradling a single slowly-spinning floating tetrahedron; the staff itself is "pure vibes," but the little gem does the work. Pointed at a target, it telekinetically lifts and moves it (people or objects) and renders the subject's powers inert for transport — when Malifax floats the thief Keith with it, a ray of radiant white light outlines him and he goes limp "like a paralyzed cat scruffed by its mum."
It can move at least eight prisoners worth of subjects in a day. Long unused — the Grenkh haven't had to relocate anyone in ages — it was first forged at the request of Morgor, ancestor of Grank. Malifax keeps it on his anvil and lends it to the party for re-caging the Queen Grabbler; it is emphatically his, not theirs ("you can just borrow it to move a prisoner").
Session 28
- Located in Malifax's cupboard (Silithane's nat-20 search) after a room-wide hunt; the party had been told to look for "an orb on a stick."
- Demonstrated on Keith — lifting and immobilising him to return him to his cage.
- Lent to the party (set on Malifax's anvil) toward the plan to put the Queen Grabbler to sleep and move her into a new cell.
