Devlin
The hired "deck wizard" of Roger Payton's pirate crew — a small halfling-or-gnome-sized caster with a focus gem, a fog cloud, a Shield spell, and a knack for sculpting his blasts around allies that, per the GM, "shows a level of mastery you wouldn't expect from a guy that's just a pirate." Sole survivor of the battle on Ankley Island (Session 10); surrendered to Fenric rather than die for a paycheck. Joined the crew within the last decade; claims he never hurt Tegrak. Wants to be rehabilitated by the Mage's Society; the party is delivering him to Fort Foothold's authorities instead.
Session 10
- Near-wiped the party with a sculpted fire blast (17 to Magra), then ran through his repertoire against Fenric — Shield, fog, an enchanted "Go north" command that bounced off charm immunity — before laying down his gem and Enduring Spellbook and giving up. "He's not willing to die for this."
- Revealed the crew brutalized and killed Vernon Cleave's father (he watched); confirmed the pirates never intended to raid Ankley — they bought its rum, badly.
- Cast Identity ("like Identify, but you do it on people") on Tegrak to locate his birthplace, with Silithane holding the spellbook open to the right page.
- Promised Draak he is "definitely reborn as a good guy... and I'll try." His spellbook now lives in Silithane's bag, which he notes isn't very good-guy behavior.
Session 11
- Formally turned over to Sir Dahorn, Fort Foothold's rhino-man sergeant-on-duty, as a prisoner of war. His complaint that Silithane still holds his Enduring Spellbook was not addressed. Current status: Foothold custody, awaiting whatever rehabilitation or judgment the authorities decide.
