A small girl with wheat-colored hair living alone in a tent in the woods by the Keep Grow Inn, beside her dead mother's grave. On her late mother's instruction she keeps mud in her hair — "because Guilford's a bad man" — a defense against the local brute Guilford, who hangs wheat-haired women. Wary of strangers, she decides she can trust Thalia because "your name's not Tycho."
Despite her circumstances she drops surprisingly weighty lore: she mentions the 13 island witches and asks Thalia point-blank whether she is "the blood witch" (whom she'd have to fight). This is one of the party's first brushes with the island's coven of kingmaker witches.
