Garruk the Red
Laewendas's most notorious tax enforcer, named by Zantaya in Session 11. He goes town to town beyond the Palisade demanding tax payments for Laewendas. Said to be smaller than Draak out of armour, but his gear makes him bigger than Drak when suited up. Reputedly cursed by a wizard to have "the most punchable face in the kingdom." Zantaya mocked the name as much as the man: "Get a descriptor, you know?"
Session 11
- Identified by Zantaya as a major road threat the party should expect when travelling beyond the Palisade — a named henchman-tier servant of Laewendas (one of her nine).
Session 39 (dead — off-screen)
- Confirmed killed, relayed by the Varian spy Timothy Leisten at the Church of the Witches midnight meeting: rumour says an angel descended, said "you have been named," and he exploded into maggots (later "blood-magma"). One of Laewendas's chief generals down — a major war milestone.
- The party's own doing. In an earlier session (which Magra's player missed) they flipped a shrine's Life Domain to the Blood Domain, summoning a winged "Blood Witch" who warned "nobody say any names," then named Garruk — and a week later he burst apart. The Varian network knows he is dead but disbelieves the angel story. See Laewendas and Canon Questions.
