Abigail Miller
The ghost of a ~14-year-old farm girl haunting the crawl-tunnels of The Snatcher's Cave — a victim of the Snatcher who survived the camp's cage by playing dead, squeezed into the warren of tunnels that no adult could follow, and then got lost and starved to death ~4 years ago. Pale, gaunt, in plain commoner's clothes and clutching a ghostly lantern (she winks out of existence outside its light), she is consumed by a slow rage that she still exists at all — "I know that when you die, you're supposed to die, but I'm still here… and every time I think about it, I just get so angry." Possibly a revenge-ghost in the making.
Her father is an old Ponterford-area farmer with an orc hireling, who still searches for her and "won't even go into her room"; her mother left and never came back. She remembers nothing of where in the tunnels her bones lie (Rusty gathered a vase of likely candidates).
(Named "Abigail Miller" — Lash guesses it and the ghost confirms; her father's name and the link to a known quest are open.)
Session 41 (debut)
- Flushed into view when a scared rat startled her; she questioned Silithane and Lash suspiciously, then opened up on learning her father still searches.
- Told the party the camp kept children in a central cage "never for too long — they said our days were wasted if we lived too long," and that she bit, clawed and fled into the tunnels when her turn came, never finding a way out.
- The party promised to clear the cave and carry word to her father; her fate (laying her bones to rest, freeing the revenge-ghost) is left open.
Session 44 (bones returned)
- Laid to rest. Lash carries the recovered bones home to her father — now named Gordon Miller, with an orc farmhand Orzgrubag — who lays them beside her guitar, pays a meager rat-chewed purse (8 silver, 42 copper), and resolves to sell the farm and bury her somewhere quiet before moving on. The party reports she was at peace, not vengeful (the witch will tell the ghost boy this small good news).
