Gordon Miller
A grieving Ponterford-area farmer, father of Abigail Miller — the girl taken ~4 years ago at fourteen, one of the many children lost to the Snatcher under Laewendas's child-curse. He still searches for her and reportedly "won't even go into her room," where her guitar was left on a made bed the night she vanished. An orc hireling (later named Orzgrubag) helps him work the farm now; Abigail's mother left and never came back.
(The surname is Miller; his and the orc's full names firmed up across Session 41–Session 44. See Canon Questions.)
Background
- First met back in Session 32, when the party investigated Ponterford's missing children. Abigail's diary pointed to a close friendship with an elf boy at the Speakeasy — one of the few early leads.
Session 41 (named)
- Confirmed by Abigail's ghost inside The Snatcher's Cave: her father "still looks," now with an orc farmhand, after her mother gave up. The party promised to clear the cave and carry word to him.
- Rusty gathered Abigail's scattered bones into a person-sized clay vase; Lash took charge of returning them to Gordon.
Session 44 (bones returned)
- Lash carried the bones home. Gordon — with his orc farmhand Orzgrubag — laid them beside Abigail's guitar, pressed a meagre rat-chewed purse on the party (8 silver, 42 copper), and resolved to sell the farm and bury her somewhere quiet before moving on. Told that she passed at peace rather than vengeful.
