The Flamespeaker
Priestess of the Firebrand Church in Port Quaybay — on fire from the shoulders
down. In Session 3 she branded the foreheads of the greedy nobles Kain had lured
to church, condemning them to fight in Orathos. The party joked about recruiting
her as the group's "distinguisher." Her personal name is Nina (confirmed in
Session 5's branding scene and again in Session 7 as "Flamespeaker Nina").
Session 5
- Presided over a redemption branding on the church steps: a tattooed back-alley
thug renounced his old life, took the brand, and rose with flame-flickering eyes —
"Through the power of the Flame Queen, you are reborn." - Watched her new convert head off to register for the expedition "with the slight
smile of a proud mother watching her kid on the first day of school."
Session 7
- Performed Kain's sacrifice and Drak's birth in the Holy Chambers aboard The Expedition Ship (named "Flamespeaker Nina" again). After a rebirth sermon she invited
a self-sacrifice; Kain accepted, climbed the furnace, and from the flame she midwifed
a grown lizardman — "Welcome, child born of the Flame Queen, sacrifice of Kain and
body" — naming his species (a Drak) and inviting him back to be branded. - Gave Silithane her theology in the cleanup: the Flame Queen has many depictions
(sun, dragon, phoenix, the Orathos volcano), "I do not know what she looks like," and
the ritual fuses "the soulless husk of a body with a pure soul of a true believer."
Handed him introductory Fire Domain literature.
