Sir Ronald of Chapston

A large, jacked rooster knight of South Rivalon — second place in the Rivellanin jousting tournament of 1347, code of honor, love of the common people, and "so many teeth" when he smiles (he's a rooster). Spends his days marching Fort Foothold's initiates up and down the hills to Ankley to wear them out. Carries an improbable amount of equipment in his pockets: carrots for steeds, biodegradable confetti, marshmallow spike-toppers, and a miniature pocket gong. His hometown, Chapston (10 miles south of Lambert's Crossing, 40 NW of Cathalon), is known for its lumber and its heroes — chiefly him, he hopes.

Dangerous "in the sense that he could beat the piss out of you," but bound to honor: he tests strangers' combat-worthiness before signing their leave-the-Palisade paperwork, and lectures at length on morality ("heinous" — he cannot spell it).
